Hot and Trendy PROM DRESSES

Do you want to get your fingers on the pulse of what’s hot and trendy for this year’s prom dresses?  Here we go!

1. MIAMI HEAT Time to move away from demure pastel prom dresses and embrace color, color, color.  Be it bright orange, yellow or a punch of pink, the brights are leading the way. Not bold enough for a complete dose, try choosing a prom dress with bright color accents.  Our prom dresses from the Paparazzi prom 2011 line capture this trend perfectly.  Check out Style # 8703 especially.  Precious Formals is right on trend too with Style # P20653.

2. BLACK IS BACK Yes, we still love color and we can’t deny the lure of jewel tones but black is definitely back.  What we love about it is, not only can a prom dress like this stay timeless for future wearings but you can play with more daring hemlines as black always comes off as classy and sophisticated.  (Not to mention, with a black dress, you can’t go wrong with how you wear your hair or jewelry!)  Check out this beauty from Alyce (Style #5361).

3. GLITTER, GLITTER EVERYWHERE  We’re loving this trend, whether it’s beads, sequins, rhinestones or jewels on the prom dress – the dazzle of glitter just can’t be denied.  It’s the hottest way to jazz up the simplest of prom dresses.  If you love a hint of sparkle, our Glam Gurlz prom dress line would be perfect for you.  Style #S41083 and #S35061 really embrace this sexy trend for prom 2011.

4. THE DIVA IS IN THE DETAILS  Want to embrace your inner diva?  Then you’ll love the trend of a prom dress accented with ruffles, slits, overlays, ribbons or bows, or demure embroideries of garden flowers or butterflies.  Not all together of course!  These fabulous details really make a prom dress stand out and will give you a chance to show your own personal style.  We’re wild about the ruffles on Clarisse Prom #1510 and the black tulle skirt on Flirt Prom’s Style# P1527.

5. HEMLINE HEAVEN It’s all about fun with hemlines.  There is long, really long, short, super short and everything else in between in this year’s prom dresses. Tea length prom dresses, ballerina, asymmetrical, carwash, handkerchief, and on and on, everything goes. There is no right or wrong. Whatever length you fancy, you will be surely dressed to a tee.  Our line from Sparkle Prom and Sherri Hill prom dresses nails this trend with fun and flirty short prom dresses.

6. HI-LO EFFECT Those of you who can’t choose between the formal full length of a prom dress or the bold attempt to go short this prom season, don’t sweat it. Choose a hi/low prom dress- shorter in the front and longer in the back.  This is a trend we’re seeing a lot on Hollywood’s red carpet.  Be prepared when you wear that all eyes will be on you!  Check out our Jovani dress in Style #15919 or #159865, it’s perfect for that Hi-Lo effect! Clarisse Prom #1504 is another favorite!
